Haywood County Republican Party Chairman Steps Down

At last Thursday’s meeting (3-14-24) of the Haywood County Republican Party, Chairman Jeff Sellers advised those in attendance that a serious medical situation had arisen in his family. As a result, Jeff announced that he would reluctantly have to step-down from his role as the Chairman of the County Party.

In just the short period that Jeff has served as Chairman, he has been able to implement profound and much needed changes in our County Party’s vision, organizational structure, and drawn a substantial number of new attendees and volunteers.

To say the least, Jeff will be truly missed but we all understand that family must always come before all else. Our prayers and best wishes are with Jeff, Cindy, and their family during their ordeal.

As Vice-Chair, Ric Stello will be assuming the role of Chairman. Having been thrust into this role in short notice, he will need all of our help in continuing Jeff’s vision. Please let Ric know that you are there to support and assist him in the coming months leading up to the November elections.

I think it’s unfair to say that the reason Jeff is stepping in is due to a family health situation. That was just the last straw and would negate the almost 30 minute explanation of what his leadership endured.
