IS THE HAYWOOD COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY IMPLODING?

I have spent the last few years watching our Haywood County Republican Party (HCGOP) slowly deteriorate to its current lowest point, becoming politically irrelevant within our county. We have reached the point where we are unable to:

1)       Attract reliable donors who are willing to make significant monthly recurring

donations. This is critical for creating a budget that not only sustains the day-to-day

operations of the HCGOP but also enables planning strategies to recruit strong

Christian Conservative Republican candidates for various elected offices and

support their election to those positions.

2)       Attract volunteers to serve as Precinct Chairs, leading and keeping Republican

voters in their designated precincts informed and motivated. The precinct is the

lifeblood of any political party and requires passionate and dedicated Precinct

Chairs to rally Republican residents in their precinct.

a.       Haywood County has twenty-nine Precincts, of which only eleven Precincts have a sitting Chair. Precinct Chairs to:

b.       Keep their Precinct constituents constantly aware of the ever-changing

political environment;

c.       Solicit donations to help fund the Republican Party’s mission and vision;

d.       Recruit desperately needed volunteers to work at Party events and activities.

Without them, the HCGOP cannot complete its mission or attain its vision;

e.       Identify and recruit strong Christian Conservative Republicans to run for

elected offices that represent the citizens of Haywood County, and most

critically,

f.       Get out the Republican vote and work with Republican candidates to defeat

their Democrat opponents, thus helping keep America a Constitutional Republic as envisioned by our Founding Fathers.

3)       Develop and maintain close relationships with our Republican elected officials

who represents the citizens of Haywood County? Such a relationship could have

prevented one of our Haywood County Republican Representatives, Mark Pless,

from becoming, in my opinion, so embittered towards the HCGOP that it caused

him to introduce a bill, which has passed in the NC State House and is now being

considered by the NC State Senate, removing any authority or input by the

HCGOP in the selection process for filling any vacated Republican Haywood

County Board of Commissioners seat; or to,

4)      Work together as a united and organized group to fulfill the Republican Party's

mission and vision.

I have watched and endured as the current Chair, Michael Loomis, breaks his promises and commitments to key and vital members of the HCGOP. In my opinion, he seems more willing to give in to his fears of certain county party members, such as the Carr's, Vickie Reece, and one or two others, who intimidate him into making decisions that ensure their continued influence and control over the county party, rather than acting in the best interest of the Republican residents of Haywood County and the Republican Party.

In my view, these individuals are motivated by a sense of self-pride and a feeling of unearned self-worth. They are unwilling to make the sacrifices they demand of others.

In my opinion, these few are the individuals who create and maintain disunity within the HCGOP, bringing it to its knees and rendering it incapable of functioning as a viable and relevant political party unit.

These few individuals choose to criticize, vilify, and dismiss those of us who have the courage and strength, through God, to expose their threats to the continued existence of the HCGOP, and to hold them accountable. They choose to label us as “Outsiders.”

They are threatened by those of us who are driven by passion and determination to eliminate the obstacles that prevent the HCGOP from becoming the political powerhouse it could and should be. They have tried to intimidate me into silence, but I will not be discouraged. Know that you are dealing with a Marine and understand what it means to be a Marine.

I am a Marine because I am willing to do the things you are not.

I will fight against the odds and sacrifice to overcome them.

I am not shackled by fear, insecurity, or DOUBT.

I feel those emotions, but drink them in and swallow them away to the darkness of hell.

I am motivated by accomplishment, not pride.

Pride consumes the weak and kills their heart from within.

If I fall, I will get up.

If I am beaten, I will return.

I will never give up… EVER.

I am a warrior, I am a Marine!

Just retired and moved back home to Western North Carolina, Maggie Valley.

Would love to get involved with the HCGOP in any way to help get the vote out!! President Trump can’t do it alone!

The Haywood County group, "The Informed Citizen," recently disassociated itself from the HCGOP due to serious leadership issues and a lack of direction within the HCGOP. We will be holding monthly Forums, attending various county committees, boards, and city assembly meetings, and then providing information obtained at those meetings to subscribers of this Blog site. We will be actively working with candidates running for various municipal positions throughout Haywood County, including Maggie Valley.

We are currently coordinating an "American Spirit" event to be held on June 14th at the Maggie Valley Festival grounds. I will be manning a "Veterans" booth, and would love to have you stop by and talk about your getting involved.

As for "The Informed Citizen" group,…
