My New Role As A "Constitutional Coach" - What To Expect!
Freedom is often described as a fundamental right, but if rights are grounded in natural law, then freedom must be guided by reason and moral truth. Reason helps citizens evaluate laws and policies critically. Moral truth provides a compass for distinguishing right from wrong in governance. Without a clear understanding of the Constitution’s principles, citizens risk losing their ability to protect their rights and hold government accountable.
The Constitution is more than a historical document; it is the foundation of our government and the protector of our rights. When citizens lack a basic understanding of its principles, they become vulnerable to the erosion of those rights.
To address the need for constitutional education, I have partnered with Patriot Academy, a nonprofit organization based in Comfort, Texas, as a Constitutional Coach. As such, I will host Zoom video classes covering a range of topics designed to bring the Constitution to life:
Constitution Alive – 6 weekly sessions exploring the Constitution’s structure and meaning
Biblical Citizenship – 8 weekly sessions connecting faith to the Constitution
Constitutional Defense – 7 weekly sessions on protecting rights and freedoms
Foundations of Freedom – 6 weekly sessions on the principles underlying liberty
Rebuilding Liberty – 4 weekly sessions focused on restoring constitutional government
Details about class dates and times will be shared in an upcoming post. These sessions will provide practical knowledge and encourage thoughtful discussion.
Alongside the classes, I will publish a series of “Did You Know” posts. These will explore the people, challenges, and ideas that shaped the Constitution. For example, many people misunderstand Thomas Jefferson’s views on slavery. In his original draft of the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson included anti-slavery language but could not convince others that the time was right to address it.
These posts will shed light on the complexities faced by the Founding Fathers and the careful balancing act involved in creating a document that could unite the colonies.
Questions are a vital part of learning. I encourage readers and class participants to ask questions about the Constitution or the topics covered in the Zoom sessions. I will research these questions with experts at Patriot Academy and provide answers in follow-up posts. This approach ensures that everyone benefits from the inquiry and gains a clearer understanding.
Freedom is not guaranteed by chance. It requires constant vigilance and education. The Constitution provides the framework, but citizens must understand and apply its principles. Education empowers people to recognize threats to their rights and respond effectively.
Whether you are new to constitutional study or want to deepen your understanding, these classes and posts will equip you with the tools needed to protect liberty.
