Living in Waynesville, North Carolina, can be a beautiful experience, with stunning mountain views and a vibrant community. However, for many residents, particularly those with conservative Christian values, local governance under socialist-minded Democrat officials raises significant concerns.
Waynesville city elections are just around the corner, and two City Council seats are open. It is time for conservative Christians to start reflecting on what you, as a Christian conservative Waynesville resident, want from your local government. It is time for every Christian Conservative Republican resident of Waynesville to consider the challenges of living in a town governed by socialist ideologies. It is time to acknowledge the local problems and the unmet needs of the community.
The Rise of Socialism in Local Governance
In recent years, Waynesville has experienced a noticeable shift in its political landscape, with an increased number of socialist-minded Democrats in office. This change has led to policies that many residents feel do not align with their values or the community's needs.

For instance, local government policies often prioritize social welfare programs over economic development. A survey conducted in late 2022 showed that 64% of conservative residents believe that these policies stifle entrepreneurship. They argue that an emphasis on socialist wealth redistribution creates barriers to starting and growing businesses, which are essential for job creation and economic vitality.
The economic climate in Waynesville is a significant concern. With an increasing focus on social programs, small businesses have struggled to flourish. Many local shop owners report that rising taxes and stringent regulations have made it difficult to maintain operations.
Data from the Waynesville Chamber of Commerce indicate that in the last 18 months, nearly 20% of local businesses closed, resulting in a 12% decrease in job opportunities. Families, especially those striving for a stable income, are feeling the pinch more than ever.
Education System Concerns
Education is another area where residents sense disappointment. Conservative Christian families feel that local schools have shifted away from traditional values and academic rigor.

Many parents worry that progressive socialist ideologies are affecting the curriculum. A study conducted in early 2023 found that 58% of parents feel the curriculum lacks transparency. They are frustrated with the perceived neglect of parental input in school decisions and advocate for more substantial involvement in educational policy discussions.
Public Safety and Crime Rates
Public safety is a critical issue in Waynesville. Many residents claim that socialist policies have led to underfunded law enforcement and overly restrictive regulations.

Consequently, crime rates have begun to rise. According to recent statistics, property crime has increased in the last year, leaving many families feeling unsafe in their neighborhoods. Conservative residents are calling for more robust law enforcement, believing that their concerns are often overlooked in local government dialogues.
Housing Affordability
Housing affordability has become a troubling issue under the current governance. Residents have noticed a sharp increase in property taxes and housing costs, straining families trying to find affordable homes.

For instance, a report from the Waynesville Housing Authority indicates that average rent has increased by nearly 25% over the past three years. Residents argue that the heavy focus on social programs has diverted funds away from initiatives that could help stabilize the housing market. Many believe that adopting a balanced approach to governance could lead to improved housing solutions for the community.
Community Division
The political climate in Waynesville has fostered division within the community. Many residents feel that socialist policies have created an "us vs. them" mentality, silencing dissenting views.
This division is evident in local gatherings, where discussions about politics often lead to heated debates. Conservative Christian residents, feeling marginalized, express frustration that their values are not reflected in local governance.
The Need for Conservative Leadership
Given the numerous challenges facing Waynesville, there is a compelling call for more robust conservative leadership that addresses the needs of all residents. Strong Christian Conservative leadership that encourages economic growth, prioritizes public safety, and respects the diverse values held by families.
Path Forward

Life in Waynesville, NC, under socialist Democrat governance presents various challenges for conservative Christian residents. Economic struggles, concerns about education and public safety, housing affordability, and community division are leaving many feeling unheard.
As Waynesville continues to navigate these complex issues, there is a path forward, and that path begins at the Waynesville polling sites starting on October 16th. If you are a conservative resident who truly wishes to see change that will foster Christian family values, economic growth, education transparency, personal safety, and affordable housing, then voting for your values is not optional; it is mandatory.
The path forward to a brighter future - one that honors both tradition and progress - lies with the election of two Republican candidates:

Julia Freeman, a well-known figure in Waynesville, has served on the City Council with dedication and understands the wishes of her conservative Republican constituents. Julia will bring a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fulfilling the changes being demanded by Waynesville's conservative Republicans. Her incumbency allows her to understand the existing city policies that are not meeting the values of Christian families, that are placing economic restrictions on business growth, and the lack of affordable housing, especially for young first-time home buyers.

Landen Stevenson embodies a wealth of fresh ideas and perspectives that will lead to growth, prosperity, and safety for Waynesville residents. All issues that appeal to Christian conservative Republican voters looking for change. As a broker and realtor, Landen is well-acquainted with the high cost of the local housing market, the economic challenges that many Waynesville families struggle with, and the impact of socialist Democrat policies on Waynesville's small businesses.
Remember, it is you who should be deciding what is best for you and your family's future, not a socialist directed city government. That decision begins at the ballot box.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16 - IN-PERSON EARLY VOTING BEGINS
