The Republican Party must not only hold control of the House and Senate but also grow our majority to ensure that President Trump may continue his work on returning the governance of the United States to that as envisioned by our Founding Fathers.

The Democratic Party is struggling to present clear leadership and policies that resonate with most Americans. This weakness is evident even in places like Haywood County, where Democrats control municipal offices but have failed to take over the county government. This split control suggests that voters are not fully convinced by the Democratic approach at the county level. Republicans must use this as a foundation to highlight the shortcomings of Democratic leadership and offer a clear conservative Republican alternative.

For the Haywood County Republican Party, the time has come to stop sitting on the sidelines, stop reacting defensively, and take the initiative. The Haywood County Republican Party must begin sharpening its strategies, confronting the progressive socialist agenda head-on, and reclaiming the narrative in our community.

The Democratic Party nationally has embraced policies and tactics that many Americans view as extreme or out of touch. Their push toward socialist ideas and Marxist tactics alienates a large portion of the electorate. Republicans in Haywood County must stop simply defending their ground. Instead, they should:

The Socialist-Democratic Party’s influence has steadily grown over the past fifty years, dominating many institutions. Yet socialists represent a small minority of Americans. This means that the vast majority does not support extreme left-wing policies.

Republicans in Haywood County can learn from this by:

• Focusing on clear, relatable issues that matter to voters.

To strengthen our position, we must identify ways to:

• Promote policies that focus on economic growth, public safety, and preserving local traditions.

Democrats in Haywood County have not demonstrated the ability to govern the county effectively. Republicans must highlight:

• Failures in city governance where Democrats hold office.

• The risks of adopting socialist policies that could harm local businesses and families.
