Mountain View Young Republicans Hold Their First Annual Meeting

Mountain View Young Republicans Officers & Meeting Dates

On Saturday morning, I had the great pleasure of attending the Mountain View Young Republicans' inaugural meeting and election of their officers. The Mountain View Young Republicans represent young adult republicans from Haywood, Madison, and Swain counties.

At the age of 81, attending this inaugural meeting was especially motivating and reassuring, as I watched young adults willing to step up and get involved and engaged in the political process. They are the future of the Republican Party, they are the warriors who will step in as my replacement in the fight against the attempt to destroy our Constitutional Republic as established by our Founding Fathers by the radical socialist Democrats.

There guest speaker was State Representative Karl Gillespie, the current Republican Majority Wipe of the House of Representatives. Representative Gillespie gave a very inspirational speech which should motivate young Republican adults to achieve great things in both their private and political futures. Representative Gillespie also took the time to walk through the process of moving legislation through the State Assembly which was very informative.

I want to congratulate the newly elected officers, and wish them God speed and success in the coming months as they begin their journey to grow the Mountain View Young Republicans. The elected officers were as follows:

Chair: Kendal Burnett

First Vice Chair: Emily Sapp

Second Vice Chair: Tiffany Collins

Secretary: Josh Mashburn

Treasurer: Kendal Burnett

Assistant Treasurer: Kim Genova

The newly elected officer proceeded by approving their 2026 Monthly Meeting Calendar at which all young adult Republicans are welcomed to attend and hear influential speakers and socialize with like minded conservatives. The location of these meetings is pending and will be announce in future posts. The meeting dates are is as following:

• April 11th at 6:00 pm

• May 11th at 6:00 pm

• June 8th at 6:00 pm

• July 13th at 6:00 pm

• August 10th at 6:00 pm

• September 14th at 6:00 pm

• October 123th at 6:00 pm

• November 9th at 6:00 pm

December date to be determined as meeting will be their first annual Christmas Party

The Officers also announced their 2026 Executive Committee meeting which will be held on:

• March 23rd at 5:30 pm

• April 7th at 5:30 pm

• May 4th at 5:30 pm

• June 1st at 5:30 pm

• July 6th at 5:30 pm

• August 3rd at 5:30 pm

• September 7th at 5:30 pm

• October 5th at 5:30 pm

• November 2nd at 5:30 pm

Chairman Burnett announced the upcoming events:

• WNC Farewell Salute to Representative Mike Clampitt on Friday, April 3rd at 7 pm

• Representative Mike Clampitt's Funeral on Saturday, April 4th at 5:30 pm

The Mountain View Young Republicans' Inaugural meeting was than adjourned.

Again, all we elderly Republicans wish you good luck and success in your new adventure and engagement in the political arena of our great Republic.
