The Biggest Illusion In Today's America

The biggest illusion in today's America is the idea that the existing political system continues to reflect the governing system envisioned by our Founding Fathers. This belief made sense fifty or sixty years ago when political power depended on the consent of the people. Today, that era is gone. What is in place now is not built on the will of the people, belief in the system, or trust in those managing our governing system. Rather, it is built on bureaucratic redundancy and regulatory control that persist regardless of voter approval.

What we have now is a population that has come to accept this bureaucratic redundancy as a norm; for them, there is no political conversation, just compliance. What we have now is a never-ending political execution of burdensome regulations by unelected bureaucrats, closing previously existing pathways to the pursuit of happiness and prosperity, freedom of expression and speech, and independence from government control: The American Dream.

In the past, our political system relied heavily on narratives that people trusted and believed. These narratives created consent and emotional engagement. Trust, belief, and agreement are necessary for any political party to maintain power. Today, we live with a bureaucratic governing system that is designed with built-in redundancies and structures that operate independently of the need for trust, belief, or agreement among the citizens of this country.

Those who understand this reality understand that this new governing system does not care whether you believe, doubt, or disagree. It does not pause for acceptance or wait for consensus. It simply proceeds beyond the consent of the people.

By the time the majority of people realize they are actually being ruled by an out-of-control government run by unelected bureaucrats rather than by those they elected, if they even took the time to vote, the question no longer is how could this possibly have happened in the United States, but rather what did they expect after failing to meet their civic duties by being engaged in their local politics and showing up at the voting polls.

You do not have to believe that our Constitutional Republic is beginning to falter. It is faltering regardless of what you choose to believe. At this point, the only choices available to us are whether we are willing and ready to do whatever is necessary to stop what is occurring or to continue sitting on the sidelines, doing nothing to cause a change in course.

If you choose to do whatever it takes to reclaim the America our Founding Fathers created, then I'll see you at the "Meet & Greet" event on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Waynesville Recreation Center, 550 Vance Street. This will be the largest Republican candidate "Meet & Greet" Haywood County has ever seen. Then we'll see you again on February 5th at 6:30 pm at the Haywood County Republican Headquarters located at 297 N Haywood St, Waynesville.

Your presence is vital. These meetings are not just about sharing fundamental information; they're about showing strength in numbers and commitment to our shared goals. Whether you have experience in political activism or are new to local politics, your voice matters.
