Precinct Chair Essential Training Sessions

Taking on the role of precinct chair is a vital responsibility, especially as the upcoming midterm elections will shape the future of our nation. To support you in this important position, Kim Genova and I, Le Cossette, will be leading two training sessions on Tuesday, March 31st, at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. These sessions are designed to equip you with practical tools and strategies to carry out your duties confidently and effectively.

If you cannot attend either session, there is an option for a one-on-one training at a time that suits you, including before or after the Executive Committee meeting on Thursday. However, attending one of the group sessions is highly recommended to benefit from peer interaction and shared ideas.

The training will cover several key areas that are essential for precinct chairs to understand:

  • Recruiting Volunteers

  • Holding Precinct Meetings

  • Registering Voters

  • Turning Out the Vote

  • Understanding Your Duties Without Stress Out

Participating in one of the group training sessions at 1:00 pm or 6:00 pm offers you unique advantages beyond the content itself:

  • Peer Learning: Hearing questions and ideas from other precinct chairs can spark new approaches and solutions you might not have considered.

  • Interactive Environment: The sessions encourage discussion, allowing you to voice concerns and receive immediate feedback from us.

  • Shared Resources: You will gain access to contacts that can support your work throughout the election season.

  • Time Efficiency: The sessions are designed to last about an hour, making it a focused and effective use of your time.

If the scheduled times do not fit your availability, please reach out promptly. A one-on-one session can be arranged at a mutually convenient time. This personalized training will cover the same topics and allow for tailored advice based on your specific precinct needs.

The upcoming midterms are shaping up to be among the most important in recent history. Your role as a precinct chair directly influences voter engagement and election outcomes. Being well-prepared will help you:

  • Build a committed volunteer base

  • Keep your precinct informed and active

  • Ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate

  • Contribute to a fair and transparent election process

Please let Kim or me know as soon as possible which session you will attend. This helps us prepare materials and plan for the number of participants.
