As citizens of Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Canton, and Clyde, we must work toward a stronger, Christian conservative future for all community members. This commitment especially involves electing representatives who are committed to serving as good stewards of our cities’ resources and responsible spending that aligns with the community’s needs and conservative values.

Julia Boyd Freeman is one of two Republican candidates running against a Socialist-Democrat for the two open Council seats on the Waynesville Council.

Julia Freeman is a well-known figure in Waynesville, having served on the City Council with dedication. As she seeks reelection, Julia brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to her community. Her incumbency allows her to understand the existing city policies, which could impact her campaign positively.

For example, during her time on the Council, Julia pushed for initiatives regarding local school policies and issues and collaborated with local businesses to improve community infrastructure. Voters may find that her track record presents a strong case for her continued leadership.​​​




Landen Stevenson's Commitment to Waynesville  Residents​​

Landen Stevenson is also a Republican candidate running against a Socialist-Democrat for the two open Council seats on the Waynesville Council.


Landen is a Broker/Realtor at Keller Williams Great Smokies and is a resident of Waynesville. Landen studied respiratory therapy at Southwestern Community College in North Carolina between 2013 and 2015.

Landen is married to Bethany Stevenson and they have two children who are his motivation for seeking election to the Waynesville City Council. He wants his children to grow up in a safe and prosperous environment and this desire extends to all who are citizens of Waynesville. He is committed to helping drive Waynesville city policies that will help every Waynesville resident achieve the American dream.



Adam Hatton's Vision for Canton

Adam Hatton is our Republican candidate for Alderman in Canton.  Adam is a small business man who owns and operates Hatton's Towing & Recovery in Canton. Adam is a graduate of Pisgah High School and Haywood Community College. He is a life long resident of Canton and is married to Holly Hatton.  


Additionally, he is a strong supporter of traditional Republican conservative values and the “MAGA” movement, who actively opposes socialist initiatives that threaten the community's Constitutional Republic fabric.


Adam’s top priority is the safety and welfare of children. He advocates for strict measures to keep our youth safe, such as rescinding regulations that allow alcohol consumption on public streets. This measure aims not only to protect minors but also to reduce littering and improve the community's overall atmosphere.


To enhance public safety, Adam is committed to securing adequate funding for a well-trained police and fire department. His goal is to ensure that Canton residents feel secure in their homes and neighborhoods.


Additionally, he is focused on replacing the outdated city water system to meet both current demands and future needs effectively.


Furthermore, Adam aims to resolve the ongoing issues surrounding the Old Mill site efficiently. By planning for productive redevelopment, he hopes to stimulate local economic growth while considering community needs. His vision advocates for not just surviving but thriving, as he strives to help residents achieve the American Dream.

Cory Nuckolls: A Lifelong Commitment to Clyde


Cory Nuckolls is our Republican candidate for Assemblyman in Clyde. As a father of two, he is deeply invested in creating a safe and nurturing environment for families.


Cory’s platform prioritizes addressing the flood damage that has recently affected many businesses and homes in Clyde. He understands the urgency of restoring stability for residents and intends to push for timely solutions. For example, he plans to advocate for increased funding from state resources and emergency relief programs to help impacted families recover quickly.


He also firmly opposes any attempts to annex Clyde into surrounding cities, believing that keeping Clyde’s identity intact is crucial for maintaining community spirit and values. Cory feels that local governance should reflect the voices of Clyde’s residents and not be overshadowed by neighboring municipalities.


His experience on the Clyde Waterways Board has positioned him as a champion for flood prevention. He aims to implement proactive strategies that protect local infrastructure from future flooding. This includes advocating for the construction of better drainage systems and flood barriers that can withstand severe weather conditions.

John Hinton is running for reelection to the Maggie Valley City General Assembly. John is one of two candidates running for two spots on the Maggie Valley Board of Aldermen. He is running on the slogan “open, fair-minded leadership for Maggie Valley.”







Julia, Landen, John, Adam, and Cory are passionate about serving the public to help their constituents achieve the American dream. All share a commitment to honor and integrity in their leadership. Their campaigns reflect a dedication to making the residents of Waynesville, Canton, and Clyde proud of their communities.


With early voting starting from October 16, residents need to actively participate in the electoral process to ensure that their voices are heard. Voting for Julia Freeman, Landen Stevenson, Adam Hutton. John Hinton and Cory Nuckolls are a step towards bringing Christian conservative governance to Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Canton, and Clyde.

Early elections start on October 16th, and the last day to vote is November 4th. That gives voters sixteen days to cast their ballots. There is no reason not to vote. BE THERE!
