Since President Trump took office, he has issued strong warnings against the BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa— regarding their efforts to move away from the U.S. dollar in international trade. Trump threatened 100% tariffs on any country that abandons the dollar as the global reserve currency. Despite these threats, the BRICS has just launched a new payment system and is advancing trade using it.
