Waynesville, Canton, and Clyde - Do You Really Wish to Remain Under Socialist Democrat Rule?

Community pride arises not only from celebrating our successes but also from acknowledging the challenges we face. As citizens of Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Canton, and Clyde, we must work toward a stronger, Christian conservative future for all community members. This commitment especially involves our elected representatives, who are committed to serving as good stewards of our cities’ resources and responsible spending that aligns with the community’s needs, which can, in turn, help lower taxes through careful city budget management.

One of our communities’ main challenges is how local leaders focus on attracting tourism and encouraging growth. While increasing visitors and population might seem positive, it can cause unforeseen problems. For instance, higher demand for housing is raising costs. In Haywood County cities, housing prices have increased by roughly 20% over the past two years, making it harder for first-time buyers. This is especially worrying for young families who hope to own homes in our beautiful area.

Additionally, the increase in new residents limits job opportunities for our high school graduates, leading to fewer chances for them to gain experience in their hometown. Many talented young people are forced to seek work elsewhere, contributing to a brain drain that weakens our local economy and disrupts our community’s fabric.

Unfortunately, these issues are of low priority to our elected, predominantly socialist city officials. They view rising home values positively, as this increases property tax revenues, a common justification for raising spending. This cycle of unchecked expenditures reflects a governance style that favors short-term socialist gains over long-term conservative community health. Leadership from socialist Democrats or socialist-leaning Republicans often results in spending patterns that conflict with our productive, conservative values.

As municipal elections in Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Canton, and Clyde approach, we have a vital opportunity to change the course of governance. However, to do so, we must participate in voting, which is essential to support candidates who reflect our Christian conservative values. This election is not just about party lines; it’s about choosing representatives who will prioritize our community's needs and values over temporary interests and external pressures.

As we prepare for the upcoming municipal elections, let’s seize this opportunity to call for a change in local governance. By voting for Landen Stevenson for Waynesville City Council, Adam Hatton for Canton City Assembly, and Cory Nuckolls for Clyde City Assembly, who share our Christian conservative values, we can create a brighter future. Together, we can strengthen Haywood County cities to reflect our community’s ideals and aspirations better.

If, on the other hand, city Conservative Republican residents want socialism to continue to spread and grow within our county cities, then stay home and don’t vote. Doing so will allow more socialist liberal representation, dare I use that word, to continue imposing their anti-American, anti-conservative, Asheville ideology on our residents.
Early elections start on October 16th, and the last day to vote is November 4th. That gives voters sixteen days to cast their ballots. There is no reason not to vote. BE THERE!
