Another Unelected Judge Stops Election Integrity

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly has blocked President Donald Trump's executive order, intended to modify voter registration processes to require proof of U.S. citizenship for individuals registering to vote in presidential elections. Supporters assert these measures are essential for maintaining electoral integrity, especially amid growing concerns about illegal voting. Critics, including Judge Kollar-Kotelly, argue this order is unconstitutional; however, Article 1, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution reads as follows and thus does not make President Trump's Executive Order unconstitutional:

"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."

Reread it, then reread it again, and you will find that nowhere in Article I, Section 4, of the Constitution is there any verbiage, implication, or insinuation regarding the act of registering to vote in our national elections for the office of President of the United States. Article 1, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution clearly specifies “Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives.” It does NOT include the manner of holding elections for the office of President of the United States.

We all recognize that the judiciary is vital in upholding the Constitution and ensuring laws passed by elected officials conform to constitutional principles. However, when unelected judges make decisions that reflect their personal political beliefs, it raises serious questions about their authority. For instance, Judge Kollar-Kotelly's recent ruling blocking President Trump's Executive Order, which required proof of citizenship to register and vote in our presidential elections, was clearly an overreach and a personal interpretation of Article 1, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution. These acts by unelected judges undermine our constitutional republic and the will of the people who elected President Trump in a landslide.

President Trump's executive order aimed to address voter fraud by requiring proof of citizenship to register and vote for President of the United States. This is a logical, common-sense measure to ensure only eligible citizens participate in presidential elections. Allowing unverified individuals to register and vote threatens the integrity of our democratic process.

Consider this: in states like California, where policies allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses, there is heightened concern that those who are not eligible are also registering and voting, leading to significant voter fraud. Reports estimate that such practices affect thousands of votes, thereby diluting the voices of legitimate American citizens.

Judge Kollar-Kotelly's decision to block the executive order has far-reaching consequences for election integrity. By halting the implementation of proof of citizenship requirements, the ruling enables individuals who are not eligible to participate in presidential elections to do so. This situation undermines public trust in the electoral system, as citizens question the legitimacy of election outcomes.

This ruling aligns with a broader pattern where political factions employ "lawfare" to challenge presidential initiatives through the courts. This ongoing strategy raises concerns about how judicial actions are disrupting the democratic process and eroding public confidence in elections.

Requiring proof of citizenship is essential to fostering public confidence in the electoral system. Without these protective measures, the risk of voter fraud rises, leading to significant consequences for our republic. A secure voting system is fundamental to a thriving democracy, ensuring that legitimate votes count and truly reflect the people's will.

Numerous polls indicate a considerable portion of Americans support measures ensuring only eligible citizens can vote. However, public discussion becomes clouded by the false claims of Socialist-Democrats' allegations that proof of citizenship causes voter suppression.

Judge Kollar-Kotelly's ruling to block President Trump's executive order on voter registration epitomizes the ongoing tension between the judiciary and the executive branch in the United States. As unelected judges misinterpret the Constitution to fit their ideological biases, their decisions have profound implications for the functioning of our constitutional republic.

The integrity of the electoral process, especially with presidential elections, is foundational to a functioning republic, and all Americans must prioritize its preservation, regardless of their political affiliations.
