Just yesterday, the newly formed group, "The Informed Citizen" of Haywood County, held its first meeting, marking a pivotal movement toward fostering politically informed and engaged Conservative Republicans in our area.

About twenty enthusiastic individuals attended this inaugural gathering—a great turnout given that it was organized quietly without extensive publicity. This positive response showcases the potential for growth as the group aims to rally support from local residents in Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Canton, and Clyde.

Our Mission and Vision

The Informed Citizen is dedicated to equipping residents of Haywood County with the knowledge and tools needed for constructive engagement in local politics. Our primary objective is to shift political representation in key towns from Democratic leaders to strong, Christian-valued Conservative Republicans.

With Haywood County's political landscape shifting, this initiative aims to unite voices around shared principles and goals. For instance, in the last election cycle, Republican candidates received only 38% of the votes in the Waynesville mayoral race. Our goal is to increase this percentage through better-informed and organized support.

The Path Forward: Monthly Meetings

Central to our strategy is the organization of monthly meetings designed to build community and encourage ongoing dialogue. We are currently coordinating with the local VFW Post, an ideal venue for gatherings that foster impactful conversations among like-minded citizens.
