At yesterday's (Mar. 6th) Haywood County Republican Party Executive Committee meeting, the Executive Committee approved establishing a monthly Haywood County GOP Town Hall meeting to be held at 6:30 PM on the second Thursday of each month.
This Town Hall's first meeting will be held on March 13th at 6:30 PM at the Haywood County GOP office, 297 N Haywood Street in Waynesville. Our guest speaker this coming Thursday is Kevin Ensley, Chair of the Haywood County Board of Commissioners. Brandon Rogers, the Vice Chair, may also be there to interact with attendees.
The primary purpose of these Town Halls is to provide a forum for open communication between Haywood County registered Republicans and their guest(s) and community leaders (guest speakers) to exchange information between Republican voters and these community leaders. Attendees can also ask questions, voice concerns, and provide feedback on relevant issues to them.
However, interactions with our guest speakers are expected to be done with respect and courtesy. These Town Hall meetings are not debates or opportunities for individuals to verbally criticize our guest speakers to unload personal frustrations. It is to be expected that a guest speaker's position on issues will not meet the expectations of everyone in attendance. With this in mind, please do not turn the meeting into a confrontation. Ask your questions respectfully and if the speaker's responses are not to your satisfaction, talk to them after the meeting has adjourned or schedule a meeting with them to have that kind of conversation.
Please join your fellow Haywood County Republican neighbors at these Town Hall meetings for information, clarification, and socializing.
