Citizen Apathy

Writer's picture: LeRoy CossetteLeRoy Cossette

Since I began talking with individuals and posting information on various medias regarding the state in which we find our Nation and the grass root movement spearheaded by the Convention of States Action movement to provide a solution to our Nation’s problems, I am struck by the apathy expressed by so many.

"We The People" are on the verge of losing our Constitutional and God given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as equal justice under the law, and yet so many just don’t care. I foolishly believed that all my fellow citizens would be equally concerned and would welcome information about what can be done to correct this injustice.

The information I provide is a means by which "We the People" can take back those rights from the federal government. This is NOT a Republican, Democrat, or independent issue, it is a State versus the Federal government issue, it is "We the People" versus the federal government issue.

I know that the politicians in Washington have conveniently forgotten the words of Abraham Lincoln “that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” But forgotten by so many citizens of this great Nation? Are so many really ready and willing to relinquish their right to self-governess to power hungry bureaucrats who will and are destroying our God given rights as enumerated in our Constitution?

The Washington political elitists are stripping away the powers and responsibilities given to the sovereign states of this Nation clearly provided to the States in our Constitution. They have established an elitist ruling class status for themselves and are determined to do whatever it takes to maintain that status and power. This alone should be cause for "We the People," through our state legislators, to call for a Convention of States to bring this out of control, overreaching, and corrupt federal government to bay.

But it's worse than that: those same politicians have brought this country to the verge of bankruptcy; divided us through their political rhetoric for their own personal political gain; passed laws that we are forced to comply with while exempting themselves; interjected our country into the wars of other countries which are of no direct threat to our country.

They have campaigned on promises to change the downward spiral of this Nations’ place in history as the “Shining Star” and the last great hope where all citizens have the right to self-determination, the right to free speech, the right to the pursuit of prosperity, and the God given right to liberty and justice. But they have failed to carry through.

They have campaigned on promises to pass legislation to help the underserved, govern under a balanced budget, restrict their over-reach into the affairs of sovereign states, and to reduce taxes and regulations so all Americans may obtain a life of prosperity. Then they break those promises again and again, then blame the opposing party for their failures and broken promises.

We must not let the federal bureaucracy destroy our Constitutional Republic nor divide us as a unified people, One Nation under God. I implore all of you to take the time to read the Constitution and Amendments and understand what is at stake.

Take the time to learn what a “Convention of States” really means, why it is so necessary now and why it is a safe means to bringing back our Republic to the people. Then, hopefully, you will decide to no longer stand on the side lines doing nothing. We must win this battle, but it will take every one of us working together to make the changes necessary to bring this country back to a true Constitutional Republic.

Those who have not already done so, get a booklet containing the Constitution and Amendments that you can carry in your pocket for ready reference and review. Go to conventionofstates.com, sign the petition in support of convening a Convention of States and read what the movement is all about and what it will mean for our Nation.

Remember, success is in the hands of “We the People” standing together and not in the hands of the politicians we send to Washington, D.C. who fail us term after term.

It’s as though We The People have Stage4 cancer and don’t know it yet. Why? Because we have a media who lies to us and divides us. Also, we have many elected officials who are compromised, corrupt, and no longer truly represent us. The list goes on and on. It’s my belief that the over all problem is that Globalists want our country destroyed. They’ve managed to infiltrate and influence how our country is governed. And they DON’T have We The People’s interests at heart. To the contrary. They want us divided and distracted over Ukraine, Israel, trans issues, etc., all to keep us passive and misinformed. With Fauci’s help, they even created a virus to lock dow…

Your exactly right and the unfortunate part is that even far too many Republican Representatives who proclaim to be conservative and are going to protect us and our constitution. Just Globalist Democrats in conservative clothing.
