Biden announced on Monday, July 1st, that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will begin funding a program to help Panama remove illegal migrants from within its borders.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced in a news release that the program will help the Panamanian government remove foreign nationals who are illegally in Panama.
According to the DHS, the agreement with the Biden administration supports "safe and effective Panamanian repatriation operations," including protection screening of migrants.
The repatriation operations will include U.S. tax-funded removal flights.
Mayorkas said the DHS will support training and capacity-building to enable "safe, humane repatriation processes in Panama."
Meanwhile, at our southern border, it’s business as usual with the Biden Administration’s open border policy and immediate release of illegal immigrants into the United States.
