AM I ANTI-AMERICAN AND ANTI-REPUBLICAN FOR SPEAKING OUT

I have been posting information to Haywood County Republican residents regarding the slow deterioration of the Haywood County Republican Party for the past several months.

A deterioration fueled by an unqualified and incompetent Chair and First Vice Chair. A Chair and First Vice Chair who have both verbally expressed their concerns that the Republican Party has become too Christian and Conservative and must move to a more moderate centrist position.

A deterioration that is being propelled by the intimidation of that Chair by his First Vice-Chair, who, in my opinion, is rash, untruthful, denigrating, and lacks any people interaction skills whatsoever.

More importantly, that deterioration is being fueled by two long-time members who, in my opinion, falsely present themselves as all-knowing when it comes to Party rules, procedures, policies, and Robert's Rules of Order, and use that falsehood to intimidate other members into bowing to their demands and dictates.

I have received several emails from the current Chair of the NC GOP District 11, Merry Guy, reprimanding me for daring to speak out and bring to light these critical facts, which are leading to the implosion of the HCGOP. Essential facts that are bleeding out the HCGOP of their most dedicated, dependable, and patriotic volunteers, Precinct Chairs, and the referring of the HCGOP as irrelevant by elected officials who represent the residents of Haywood County.

And for this, Chairperson Guy dares to label me as anti-American and anti-Republican when in fact it is the very essence of being American and Republican to stand up and speak out against that which is wrong and needs to be brought to light.

I cannot express my disappointment strongly enough regarding your Anti-American, Anti-Republican rants.  Your words: I have spent the last few years watching our Haywood County Republican Party (HCGOP) slowly deteriorate to its current lowest point

In the short time I have been NC11 Chair, you haven't just been watching the HCGOP slowly deteriorate, you are an active participant.  You have an opportunity to do good or be destructive.  Contrary to your years of service and Christian worldview, you seem to be choosing to be destructive. 

The party leadership has been elected and will get to work with or without your help, but to fight their efforts to recruit new volunteers and grow the party is inexcusable.  

I hope you will reconsider the role you take and help the party come together and be an effective organization for the good of our Country.

This email reprimands me for exercising my First Amendment rights and doing what, in my opinion, is the right thing for America and the Republican Party. The fact is that this email and the ones previously sent are nothing more than politically motivated attempts to embarrass me into silence so that the issues that plague the HCGOP can once again be swept under the rug.

MY RESPONSE TO CHAIRMAN GUY WAS AS FOLLOWS:

My words - really? That line that you have highlighted is a reality that clearly identifies what is occurring within the HCGOP. They are far from just my random rantings because I have nothing better to do with my time. It is a fact whether you choose to accept that reality or not.

If I even remotely believed that I could change the trajectory the Carr's, Loomis, Reece, and one or two others are taking the HCGOP, I would only be placing myself in a position of denial. 

There is a reason why only eleven of twenty-nine precinct chairs are filled: why minimal donations are received to finance the HCGOP's administrative costs and support its mission; why county and state elected officials view the HCGOP as irrelevant; why recruitment of new volunteers is near non-existent, and those we do have are bleeding out; and why only a small number of existing volunteers are willing to help but even they are beginning to step back because of the incompetent leadership and the inappropriate meddling by the Carrs.

This is not anti-American, anti-Republican rants; this is reality, and you know it, but are choosing to turn a blind eye to it.

So, it is I who is most disappointed in you for reading into my words, meaning which is neither stated nor implied!

Nowhere in that line, which you highlighted from my post, nor anywhere else in my post, for that matter, is there any wording suggesting or implying that I am anti-American or anti-Republican, and I am very much offended by your implying that my words suggest any such nonsense.

What I do sense here is an attempt by you to intimidate me into silence by attempting to inject guilt for writing what I know to be very American and very Republican. 

Real Americans and real Republicans are not afraid of the truth and speaking that truth.
